The Christians from all over the world strive for travelling to Jerusalem as it has a significant importants according to them. Jerusalem is considered important in Christianity because the Christ (PBUH) lived there. They also believe that the Christ was crossified in Jerusalem, and then he was revived and ascended to heaven.
The largest number of churches are in Jerusalem. There are 158 churches for various Christian denominations. Thus, the east and the west look at Jerusalem as a valued and significant city. It is the destination of pilgrimage for them. Many churches in Jerusalem are still in existence today due to the Omari Covenant which was issued and declared by the second Caliph Omar ibn Al-Khattab when he conquered Jerusalem.
