Geographically, the term “Holy Land” is used to point at the historic Palestine, the southwest Syria, the west of Jordan and Lebanon. However, the historic Palestine is considered to be the cradle of Christianity. The Christian monuments are distributed all over Palestine, from the north of Golan to the south of Bethlehem, and from the east of Jericho to the western Palestinian Coast. Jerusalem, however, has the most significant church in the world, the Church of Resurrection where, as they believe, the Christ was crossified and resurrected. Another important church is the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem where the Christ was born. It is one of the most ancient churches in the world. then the Church of Annunciation in Nazareth where the Christ grew up. Christians believe that the Virgin Mary was announced of her birth by angel Gabriel in this place. according to the Christians, the historic Palestine is considered to be significant and religiously important as it is the land on which the Christ was born, lived and grew up. It is the land of his apostles. Many of the events which are mentioned in the New Testament took place in Palestine. According to the Christian heritage, the annunciation began in Palestine and then spread in different parts of the world.
