Palestine has an important status for people of religions as it is the blessed land for all mankind. In Palestine, there is Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, which is highly valued by Muslims. There are also the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem and the Church of Resurrection in Jerusalem which are holy places for Christians; in addition, there is Mount Gerizim in Nablus which is the holy land for the Samaritan Community.
Palestine is considered to be the habitat for prophets, Peace Be Upon Them, and the cradle of Messages. Many Prophets either lived in Palestine or visited it. Some of them are Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job, David, Solomon, Zechariah and his son John.
In regards to these religious distinctive features, Palestine is one of the most important countries in terms of religious tourism. The periods of religious holidays are the vital and attractive times for such local or international tourism as the number of tourists significantly rises during these periods especially in Ramadan or Christmas.
