An-Najah Center for Religious Studies (ANCERS) and the French Institute for the Near East (IFPO) Sign a Three-Year Research and Academic Agreement

On Thursday, 20/11/2025, An-Najah Center for Religious Studies (ANCERS) and the French Institute for the Near East (IFPO) signed a research and academic cooperation agreement at the office of An-Najah University President. This is to strengthen the research and academic partnership between the two parties I the field of Islamic, social and historical studies particularly in Palestine in and the Middle East.
The agreement comprises cooperation in terms of mutual visits, conferences, workshops, publishing joint research papers in addition to student-exchange program at the bachelor’s and master’s level. Furthermore, it aims at enabling other professors from supervising theses and dissertations, hosting visiting professors, and offering academic and research scholarships for students.
Attending the signing on behalf of An-Najah National University, His Excellency, Professor Abdel-Naser Zaid, Professor Jamal Zaid Al-Kilani, the Dean of the Faculty of Shari’a and the Director of ANCERS, Dr. Saed Al-Khayat, the Director of International Projects, Mr. Raed Debiy, the Vice President for Community Affairs, Prof. Odeh Abdulaah, the Chairman of the Fundamentals of Religions Dept. Dr. Amer Jodallah, the lecturer of Islamic Faith Studies, Instructor Rana Qadri, and Engineer Lubna Kino, ANCERS Coordination Committee Members.

From the French Institute attendees included Ms. Laura, the Director of the French Institute’s Jerusalem branch; Dr. Mahdi Berriah, researcher in Islamic studies and history; Ms. Thuraya Kahlawi, researcher in sociology; and Mr. Taher Al-Labadi, researcher in political economy.
Both parties emphasized that the agreement marks the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership that will contribute to strengthening scientific research and expanding international opportunities for students.
