An-Najah and Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue Forge New Partnership

    On Monday, 12 August 2024, An-Najah National University, represented by its President, Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, formalized a Memorandum of Understanding with the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID). Prof. Zaid signed on behalf of An-Najah Center for Religious Studies (ANCERS), while Prof. Ibrahim S. Al-Naimi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar, represented DICID.

    The signing ceremony was conducted virtually via ZOOM, with key participants including Prof. Jamal Zaid Al-Kilani, Dean of the Faculty of Shari’ah and Chairman of ANCERS; Prof. Odeh Abdullah, Chairman of the Fundamentals of Religion Department and a member of ANCERS’ Advisory Board; Instructor Rana Qadri; and Engineer Lubna Kino from the Coordination and Follow-up Committee of the center. From Qatar, Prof. Ahmad Abdul-Rahim, Director of DICID, and Prof. Sekou Toure, a senior scholar, were in attendance.

    The agreement aims to establish a cooperative framework between the two institutions, facilitating the exchange of expertise, joint meetings, and participation in seminars focused on interfaith dialogue. This partnership seeks to promote religious diversity, pluralism, and societal cooperation while leveraging research, intellectual, and scientific resources to implement collaborative scientific research and training projects and activities.
